Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the mobile application Familyhood (the “App”). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. The service

The App provides tools to share location, routes, optional device metrics, messages, and related alerts among users who connect through invitations. Features may differ by platform (phone vs Wear OS) and app version.

3. Lawful and consensual use

You must use the App only in compliance with applicable laws. You must obtain any required consent from people whose devices or data you include. You must not use the App for harassment, stalking, unauthorized surveillance, or any purpose that violates privacy rights or criminal law. Misuse may result in suspension or termination of access.

4. Invitations and responsibility

You are responsible for whom you invite and what you share. The App relies on your choices; it does not replace legal advice or emergency services. For emergencies, contact local emergency numbers.

5. Permissions and device settings

The App may request access to location (including background location), notifications, activity recognition, camera, microphone, and other capabilities. If you deny or revoke permissions, some features may be unavailable or unreliable.

6. Optional audio features

If the App offers microphone streaming or listening features, they are optional, off by default where applicable, and require explicit action and system permissions on the relevant device. You agree to use such features only where legally permitted and with appropriate consent from affected individuals.

7. Accuracy and availability

Location and sensor data depend on hardware, environment, battery settings, network conditions, and third-party services. The App is provided for informational purposes; we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free data, or fitness for a particular purpose.

8. Paid features and stores

If subscriptions or in-app purchases are offered, they are processed by the relevant app store. Pricing, billing, and refunds follow that store’s rules. Free and paid feature sets may change over time.

9. Third-party services

The App may integrate maps, push notifications, sign-in, analytics, or other third-party components. Their use is subject to those providers’ terms and privacy policies.

10. Intellectual property

The App, its branding, and its content (except user content you supply) are protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in line with these Terms.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of the App is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. Total liability for any claim related to the App is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) zero if the App was free. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify the operator against claims arising from your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of others’ rights, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may modify these Terms. We will indicate an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes may constitute acceptance where allowed by law. If you disagree, stop using the App and uninstall it.

15. Privacy

Processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy available inside the App.

16. Governing law and disputes

Unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator’s place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that jurisdiction may have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumers cannot be deprived of their statutory protections.
