Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application Familyhood (the “App”) processes information when you use it on a phone and, where supported, on a Wear OS watch. By using the App, you acknowledge this Policy.

1. Who is responsible

The operator of the App (the “we” / “us”) is the entity identified on the App’s store listing and in the “About” section inside the App. For privacy requests, use the contact details given there.

2. What the App does

Familyhood lets people who explicitly connect with each other share selected information: map position, daily path, messages, optional wellness metrics from compatible devices (for example steps or heart rate), geofence alerts, and related notifications. Sharing is based on invitations and mutual consent within the features of the App—not on covert tracking.

3. Categories of information

Depending on your settings, permissions, and device capabilities, we may process:

4. Purposes of processing

We use information to:

We do not sell your personal information as a commodity. Where advertising or analytics SDKs exist in a particular build, they operate under their own policies and device-level controls you can adjust.

5. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar regions)

If regional law requires a “legal basis,” we rely on: performance of the service you request; your consent where we ask for it (e.g. certain permissions or optional features); legitimate interests in securing and improving the App, balanced against your rights; and legal obligations where they apply.

6. Sharing with others

We share information only as needed to run the App:

We do not publish your real-time location to the public internet as part of the core service.

7. Storage, transfers, and retention

Data may be stored on your device and on servers that can be located outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law or legitimate security needs.

8. Children and teens

The App is intended for use under the guidance of adults who install it and invite participants. If you add a minor’s device or profile, you are responsible for obtaining any legally required consent and for using the App in line with local laws on monitoring and privacy. If you believe we have collected a child’s data without proper authority, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export data, to object to certain processing, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You can revoke OS permissions in system settings, remove participants, and use in-App controls where available. For account deletion or data questions, contact us via the store listing or in-App contact.

10. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as encryption in transit where appropriate, access limits, and secure development practices). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure; use the App with that understanding.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date below will change. Continued use after notice may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.

12. Contact

For privacy inquiries, use the contact information on the App’s store page or inside the App.
